The Islander is available for regular boat trips from New Quay and Aberaeron, for private hire and workboat charter. She is an aluminium hull hard boat, 24 ft in length and 6 ft wide, weighing 2 tons, with two four-stroke 60hp outboard engines, and is very stable, easily manoeuvrable, spacious and quiet. It draws only 9 inches of water, and is perfect for accessing all the nooks and crannies of the Ceredigion Heritage Coast. With engines lifted up, it can be pushed in ankle-deep water and you can even beach it on sandy beaches! Commercially coded and insured for 12 passengers + 2 crew for MCA category 4, The Islander can work up to 20miles from a safe haven. Onboard you will find all required safety, navigation and fire fighting equipment including a fish finder/echo sounder and GPS. There is a sturdy dive ladder, easy water entry over the sides and step platform in the stern. 12 people can be seated on padded seats, overlooking the sides and its regulation height railings and open bow allow for great viewing of bow-riding dolphins and porpoises! We also carry a hydrophone onboard to listen for the sounds of the dolphins and porpoises, every time we seer them.
